Yesterday the chancellor, Jeremy Hunt, delivered his Spring Budget statement in Parliament. As ever, we bring you a summary of all the key details from the budget.

The budget announcements main headlines were:

  • Changes to pensions, including the abolishment of the lifetime allowance and an increase in the annual allowance from £40,000 to £60,000
  • An increase in childcare support; gradually phased in over the next couple of years
  • Confirmation of the increase to Corporation Tax rates previously announced
  • Changes to Capital Allowances and R&D
  • 12 new ‘investment zones’ – including one here in West Yorkshire
